Start++ breaks 6,000 downloads
According to my logs, over 6,500 people have downloaded Start++ since it’s release! Wow! Guess it’s time to put up a real “Info” web page to introduce people to it.
Anyone know of or interested in providing a good place to have a Start++ user forum?
Also, if anyone wants to make a pretty icon for it (especially larger than 16×16 ones) that would rock too =)

Congratulations on the downloads.
If you’re thinking about setting up a forum, I would recommend looking into Google groups. It’s super easy to set up and use and is quite flexible. http://groups.google.com/
Good luck!
We can host the forum for you if you want. We can do one of two things…setup your own forum or just add a sub-forum to our current forum. You should be able to see my email address in the comment so send me a message if you want me to setup a forum for Start++.
Thanks for a great app Brandon!
I’d start by taking a look at some of the open source project trackers out there (i.e. CodePlex, SourceForge, or Tigris).
Yeah I think a forum is really necessary…
And so is a new icon…^_^
While you’re at it, maybe invest in a certificate so that Start++ doesn’t come up as from an unknown publisher? I bet MS likes your tools enough to buy you a certificate to use (that has your name on it so as not to make it look too official). It would be a nice example for other developers if the hero hobby coders started signing code… I’m a big WDS fan so I’m really looking forward to Start++ but unsigned code is sooo 20th century!
New Icons. Not fantastic but an improvement; all are 256×256 vista format icons.
Icon 1

Icon 2 (same design slight variation)

I see that the competition about the icon has started already, so here my proposal, downloadable from my website under the following URL:
http://www2.vo.lu/homepages/eric.francois/Startpp_Icon_EJF.zip
It’s a zipped .ICO file with the icon in all sizes (256, 48, 32, 24,16) each time in XP style with alpha channel and Truecolor version with 1-bit transparency.
